New Series – The Beginning of the ‘Soul Project’

This show is a little different in that it’s personal. But not so personal that someone out there won’t be able to identify with it. At InRetro we’re ramping up to start the first of our Soul Project Series. The Soul Project is a video series that will feature a new segment each week hosted on inretro.ca as well as YouTube in an effort to maintain personal accountability as well as to foster support and perhaps be inspirational to others dealing with similar struggles. The challenges may vary from week to week, but it begins with something very personal to InRetro.
Producer/Publisher embarks on a new soul project of her own
From out of the deepFor the last several years, I have been living under a basket. Afraid to talk to people in person. Afraid to show the world what I fear I have become. And it’s my doing. When you mess up your work/life balance, the imbalance will manifest itself somewhere. It has to. Mine came in the form of a 75 lb weight gain. And somewhere along the way, I’ve lost me. For the first 13 weeks of this new series, The Soul Project focuses on how to make things right again.
Although the solution might start with the obvious goal of weight loss, until I deal with all the things that made me this way, it would only be a temporary fix. During the video series which will begin after this radio show, I’ll explore aspects of my past; where I grew up and how I got to this point. I’ll discover the points where everything began to derail – and we’ll end up where we are today… at this beautiful, painstaking process of getting my life back.
So I’m hoping you’ll show your support and understanding. And if you find you might be experiencing the same thing as I am right now – join me. It’s not going to be easy – but we can do it! Click play on the podcast stream above to hear the first part of this new series… So happy you could join us!

Good luck to you Nancy. I’m going to follow you so you be on your toes!! You are working with the best, also my Facebook friend Scott Tousignant!! When are we going to start seeing those progress pictures? We’ll be waiting!
Thank you for your support and inspiration as well Phillip – You will be able to keep me on my toes by watching progress in photos as well as video clips. Thanks again for your support and stay in touch!
Way to go girl!!!!! So proud of you!
Thank you Donna!
Way to go Nancy! I am proud of you for facing what you like to change heads on. It takes courage to do what you have started.
Hi Nancy, thank you so much for sharing your experiences and your journey. I’m there too. I’ve been under a blanket, and squashed, and am now working hard to get back to me and to feel great about me again. I have 75lbs to release too and have committed to being a great place by Xmas this year. I like your ambition for the next 13 weeks; I’ll join you!
Thanks too for reminding me about Dax’s interview with Scott. I’ve listened to it loads; it’s priceless. And real, so real. I love it when he rejects the idea of SMART goals, it’s so smart, and easier to work with than the standard ‘you need a goal, you need a plan’ line.
We don’t know what we can achieve! That’s what’s both exciting and terrigying. We’re all individuals starting from a unique place. What we DO need is the ambition to achieve to the max for ourselves, and the commitment to what we want, not get hung up on comparing with others.
So stick to it. If I can help you, that would be great. By sharing already, you’ve helped me. All the best xx
