What does ‘Retrospective’ or rather ‘InRetro’ mean to us?
It’s the idea of looking at everything going on around us in the present tense – but drawing correlations from the past and trying to figure out what it could all mean for the future.
Our Retrospective when it comes to News and Current Events
When you read the newspaper, it’s news that is current (at least as of the day before). News websites and blogs document news as it happens… and then it’s on to the next thing, and the next thing and the next… You get the idea. Sometimes the way we receive news can be a little like ADHD…
InRetro takes all of these ‘current’ events, as they are happening, and looks at things like – has this happened before? Is there a correlation? Or – where is all of this leading to? So our approach to news becomes retrospective in nature.
Our Retrospective when it comes to Pop Culture, Music and Fashion, etc.
The artists (everyone from musicians to fashion designers) we write about in our magazine and/or discuss on InRetro Radio – are very much part of the present pop culture.
When we cover artists from whatever genre – they all have one thing in common – they’re very good at what they do. Some may already be icons. Some may not yet have been discovered. In this sense, we’re conducting a retrospective of the artist’s work in a way that familiarizes our reader with their work – as well as the artist behind it.
